Famous for it’s medieval architecture, the striking skyline of San Gimignano is the result of feuding noble families. The power struggle resulted in increasingly taller and taller “power” tower houses. Seventy-two towers, up to 230 feet tall were built. Of those, 14 of the original towers still remain. The Gothic architecture and pink and golden hues of the sandstone towers are a spectacular sight. These make unique housewarming / hostess gifts.
